Hello Fellow Radburn Residents:
This past year, Senator Bob Gordon put countless hours into trying to help us become members of the Radburn Association and allowing us to choose who serves on the Board of Trustees. He had numerous meetings with people like us, stakeholders across the state, and his fellow legislators. The bill was drafted and revised and revised and revised.
Every time another issue came up, he reached out to constituents and stakeholders, again. He wanted to make sure his legislation was ironclad and not subject to any confusion by judges. He shepherded the legislation through committees and then had to incorporate new amendments.
This morning, the governor signed the Radburn Democracy bill!!!
The new law requires that the million people who live in homeowners associations will be governed by boards that are elected in a fair and open manner. The governor along with every single member of the Assembly and the Senate believe that we should know how our dues are being spent, and decisions should not be made behind closed doors.
The law brings Radburn’s governance into the 21st century. It requires that the Radburn Association be transparent and responsive to the community. Radburn is a wonderful place and these changes are going to help us make it so much better.
